Titled Attractiveness of International Students’ Policies: A Comparative Study of Brazil, Portugal and France, his thesis examines the impact of competition among states for international students in terms of their economic development. Based on Wallerstein’s three domains of world-systems analysis, he proposes that a governance arrangement is needed to formulate, implement, and correct public policy directions that indicate the advantages of pursuing an academic degree in a particular country. The research's broader goal is to confirm (or reject) Wallerstein’s notion of a single world versus multiple worlds, connected by a complex economic exchange network.
