Liliane Abdalla is a PhD candidate in Sustainability Science at ICS/ISA-ULisboa. She received a master’s degree in development and International Cooperation at ISEG- ULisboa. Currently, she is a lawyer, based in Lisbon, working with immigration and citizenship law. She has also worked in the criminal and human rights field, for the private and public sectors. Her research focuses on food security and nutrition in refugee camps in the EU. She aims to analyze current food security and nutrition policies and programs targeting refugees in the EU, through a human rights lens.

Titled Food Security and Nutrition on Refugee Camps: An Analyses of food programs on Refugee Camps in the EU, Liliane’s thesis seeks to understand key programs to guarantee sustainable food security and nutrition in refugee camps in Europe. Her research will measure the food security and nutrition of the asylum-seekers and refugees living in camps in Greece and France. The expected outcome of her research is to identify key programs for target areas and provide contextual evidence for the development of food policies for refugees and asylum seekers in the EU.
