Titled Out of the Frying Pan...? A Methodological Investigation of the Intersectional Stereotypes an LGBT Migrant Faces in Portugal, his thesis includes a series of experiments which explore the intersectional stereotypes encountered by LGBT migrants in Portugal. Through four main experiments, and numerous supplementary experiments, this project aims to provide a deeper understanding of stereotypes’ roles in common, social, and business settings for different sub-groups within the LGBT/migrant categories. More specifically, the main focus of this project is to examine the conceptualization and perception of LGBT members and/or migrants as a function of the majority’s point of view. Ultimately, this project aims to add valuable research to the limited literature body and break down barriers by disseminating the findings regarding LGBT members and migrants, particularly within the Portuguese context.
